If you are attending the Nonprofit Technology Conference in Washington D.C. this year (an NTEN event), don't miss this tech track sesison on Data Security featuring our data & mapping junkie Steve Spiker along with folks some other great nonprofits. This session is on Saturday March 19th at 10:30AM. Session Details: Are you doing the HIPAA-hop? Do you have a security strategy for your users and network, or staying awake at night because of the unknown unknowns? A discussion of all things related to running a secure network, preventing security problems and passing security audits. Not all nonprofits need every kind of security strategy, but a great many of them do, increasingly so as the nonprofit sector is scrutinized by the media and the government. This session will be a discussion of formulating security strategies for your users and network, adhering to guidelines like HIPAA, and other considerations for your organization. The Tech Track is a series of NTC sessions designed for those of us who are the strategic support for the use of technology at nonprofits. This is a resource-sharing track for all nonprofit techies, no matter how you arrived at your role, looking to share success stories, challenges, voice concerns and glean wisdom from each other. Nonprofit tech professionals, with sufficient expertise in each area to ensure that the conversation is meaningful, will moderate each panel.
